Thoroughly enjoyed meeting Paul, Daz and Dave at midday today, they’re the organisers of Caister Beach Community Group who are a brilliant community group who come together to have a good Norfolk yarn and dip in the sea. They do it all year round, and they’re a fantastic support group for each other.

Paul, whose 82 years young has recently removed a huge amount of brambles to make the lifesaving station accessible again, as it was overgrown.

Im going to be asking colleagues at Great Yarmouth Borough Council to check all the lifesaving stations in Caister, and Rupert Lowe – Great Yarmouth MP to request this is done across the whole of the Great Yarmouth coastal communities.

We’re a popular tourist destination because of our beautiful seaside and we need to be confident the lifesaving equipment is fully functional and accessible at all times.
